seborrheic dermatitis znp bar

ZNP bar discontinued but we have a worthy replacement!

The ZNP (Stiefel Laboratories) soap bar was once the only soap bar with a 2% pyrithione zinc formulation. The soap bar was a godsend by those who used it. It contained potent medicated ingredients for skin sufferers to those who incorporated it into their cleansing regimen. The patented blue-coloured bar had very slight  fragrance.  It was a one of a kind product until its eventual discontinuation in 2011.

The reason why many liked the ZNP bar was due to its effectiveness at controlling seborrheic dermatitis. The ZNP bar lathered easily while a single bar lasted for a very long time. It was a versatile product that could be used on any part of the body. By leaving the lathered suds on the skin, the ZNP bar reduced redness, controlled scalp scales, flakes and even improved folliculitis. It left the skin soft and supple and most importantly left no traces of residue. The skin actually felt clean after using the bar. While other products do include pyrithione zinc they’re usually found in shampoos and are primarily mean’t for the hair. This was a niche product that was hard to find even when it was still available pre-2011. It’s sad to see such a great seborrheic dermatitis product disappear…

If you were sad to see the ZNP bar go don’t worry there’s a worthy replacement! Noble Formula is the equivalent to the discontinued ZNP bar in a new and improved form. The Noble bar soap includes 2% pyrithione zinc formulated for all skin types. The soap is not only effective against seborrheic dermatitis, but also for psoriasis and eczema. I have found that the mild acne on my back has subsided since using it on my body. Some of the other beneficial ingredients include olive oil, emu oil, oatmeal. The oils offer moisturizing benefits while the oatmeal is a great exfoliator. It is recommended to use the Noble Formula bar once a day. In the shower lather the soap apply it to the affected areas and let it sit for up to 10 minutes. Rinse off.

  1. I have been looking for a compromise to ZNP since it’s been discontinued ! I would like to order your product, but don’t see an order page or a cost ? Please provide additional information to my e-mail.

    1. Hi Debbie,
Yes, unfortunately the discontinuation of the heralded ZNP bar is a disappointment to many who’ve found comfort using the product. I do not sell any of my own personal products, but you can find a suitable substitute with the Noble Formula Bar . Hope this helps and I do wish the ZNP was still available to purchase!
